| Level up? Defender? Landfall? Multukicker? Shroud? Annihitator???
Where have I been???
Ok, I'm not really a newbie. I'm oldschool 1990s. I stopped collecting just after Ursa's Saga came out and put my cards in storage.
I got them out of storage about a week ago thinking that I would sell them. Well, I started going through my binders and boxes to guesstimate the value and... and... suddenly all thoughts of selling went out the window.
"Oh my baby's! Momma still loves you!"
Um... Anyway, I collected them for the art to begin with and had sorta learned how to play just before my cards went into storage. I could stumble my way through a game.
I've gotten back into collecting cards (I was hooked as soon as I lay my hands on my cards again) and I'd like to get back into playing with local groups and get past stumbling through a game.

| Welcome back.
I'm kind of an old school player also. I started playing just after the Urza block was done. I played until the end of Mirrodin block and stopped because all my friends got married and were no longer allowed to come out and play. Insert pussy whip sound here.
I didn't start playing Magic again until about 2 years ago when I hear Abby Sports Cards was doing Friday Night Magic. Life was good again.

| Good to be back
I definitely have some catching up to do. Reading Magic forums on decks/cards that contain newer (to me) cards, I have to look each card up...
...so, basically, you could tell me that you have a killer deck and proceed to list off newer cards for a real loser deck... and I'd be sitting there smiling and nodding my head like an idiot. <8D
The game has evolved a bit and the art has certainly come a long way.

| check out http://www.tappedout.netit is a great deckbuilding site that shows all the cards on the page. There's tons of great deck ideas and whatnot. Don't worry though, I just came back from Ice Age at Zendikar, and now I regularly win tournaments. . | |

| Thanks for the site tip. Nice to be able to hover to see the cards rather than clicking or serching Gatherer. | |

| (Mod duties moves this down to a more appropriate spot for intros)
But welcome! you're right in saying that the game has changed, even looking from some set like Mirrodin (the set I officially started playing). On that note, we get to go there again in the new large set after Magic Core 2011, so what that will bring or restore is yet to be seen.
Stay a while! -The Q | |

| Oops, sorry Q. I registered and went straight to MtG and missed the Intros thread. Even Mirrodin is new to me | |
