SOM Gameday

I am hosting a SOM Game Day tournament at Abby Cards this Saturday, Oct 30. It is a FREE standard tournament.

Entry: FREE
Time: 1pm

Prizes are a textless Memnite for all participants and a foil textless alternate art Tempered Steel for the top 8 finishers. In addition there are promo cards for the top two players of each faction, Mirran and Phyrexian.

To qualify as affiliated with a faction the deck must be standard legal, have at least 10 cards of one faction and 0 cards from the opposing faction. I am supposed to track which faction won at our store.

Sounds good. I will have to make sure I build a deck by then.

Started going thru my SOM cards and trying to build a deck for the tournament. The ratio of Mirran and Phyrexian cards is extremely unbalanced. I checked out the SOM booklet from the fat pack. Counted 41 Phyrexian cards out of the entire set. All the dual lands are Mirran. Wow, the odds are sure stacked in favour of the Mirran.

Busted open a box of SOM while I was searching for cards to build a deck with. I have to say this is probably one of the best, or the best box of boosters I have opened in a long time.

Foil Indomitable Archangel
Koth of the Hammer
Venser, the Sojourner
Geth, Lord of the Vault

Thats about $110 just in mythics, give or take $15. Every other time I have ever opened a box I have never had more than 4 mythics in 1 box.
