| I can sum up this tournament with one word: Ramp.
It seemed like you were either playing a ramp deck, or getting beat by one. Looking around I'd guess 50%+ of people were playing Primeval Titan in their decks, I know all four opponents I played were. Looked like the second most popular deck was a U/W based control deck.

| I don't understand that decklist at all, I don't see how it wins. Only 2 creatures, both 6cmc, relying completely on burn to protect his planeswalkers. Seems risky but I guess he did win in a field of 95 players.
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th were all ramp decks. 5th was U/R/W control and 8th was U/W control. You needed to have a record of 5-1 after the first 6 rounds in order to be able to draw into top 8.

| good sheet.
I may build a R/U control deck with more of a Red focus and 4 koths.

| Definitely a lot of interesting decks competing right now! I was happy to read that a few U/B control decks actually took down a few of the States events (California States /w ~180 players was won by UB), surprisingly Mindbreak Trap is getting some love. The guy wrote that it was great all day, exiling Emrakuls, Vengevines, and winning against Primeval Titan decks during those dreaded multi-Summoning Trap turns, and it even gets around summoning trap in the first place as it isn't a "counter". Seems like a good fit in this particular deck. - Quote :
Land: 25 4 Creeping Tar Pit 4 Darkslick Shores 2 Drowned Catacomb 4 Tectonic Edge 7 Island 4 Swamp
Sorceries: 7 3 Inquisition of Kozilek 4 Preordain
Instants: 23 4 Doom Blade 2 Into the Roil 4 Mana Leak 2 Negate 4 Cancel 3 Mindbreak Trap 4 Jace's Ingenuity
Planeswalkers: 3 3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Creatures: 2 2 Sphinx of Jwar Isle
Sideboard: 2 Duress 3 Flashfreeze 2 Sign in Blood 2 Disfigure 2 Smother 2 Consume the Meek 2 Grave Titan Really like the list, with so much draw I'm sure it plays very consistently; might try something similar with my UB deck. Edit: On another note, Ratchet Bomb & Frost Titan were showing up all over the place. Quite a few of the various States winners were running 2-4 MD Frost Titans. Seems like this card is legit and totally awesome, so try to pick them up now while they're still cheap (Ebay playsets <$20). As it stands now they're seeing way more play than Grave Titan and might become on par with Primeval Titan if the trend continues. Price jump could be huge considering that there is really no difference in circulating quantity between Primeval and Frost, just in demand.
